MHA #6 Sunday
As much as Verity wanted to be out there, dealing with tremens herself, her first priority had been getting Liam safely home. She went with her home over his, since he still didn't have a real bed, though considering the state of her cupboards, maybe his place would have been the better idea after all.
But hey, this was Fandom. Takeout during an invasion was a thing, wasn't it? Especially if she tipped really well?
Whatever, they could make it work. Maybe Liam would believe that stale tortilla omelettes were a common Pacific Northwest breakfast food.
...She needed to go grocery shopping like whoa.
[For the guy!]

"Lookit you," she said, giving him a soft smile as he brought over the tray of breakfast. "Totally worth waking up with coffee, see?"

"I suppose," he said, settling back down next to Verity and offering her a quick peck on the cheek. "Though I'm far more partial to waking up with you, as it happens."

"Me too," she said, smiling up at him in a way that was still decidedly sappy, regardless of plans to the contrary. "Which is why we still need to go out to Ikea, so I can wake up with you, too."
From their room at the end of the hall came a loud, probably-unrelated cheer.
"...Without the peanut gallery even."
Sure, Liam had roommates, but they all understood boundaries.

... The expression on his face probably gave away just how not-terrible he found the prospect, yes.

"Yeah," she said, pulling slightly away to catch her breath. "Definitely gonna be more of that this afternoon."

Verity, you were twenty-two, god.

Yes, he said that last word as if it was an entirely foreign concept. Mostly because it was.

Very helpful, Very.

"Even experienced cavers can have accidents," he replied, his tone clipped.
